    Abstract:

The anatomy of the posterolateral structure of knee is complicated and includes the static and dynamic contribution of a number of ligamentous structures, such as the lateral collateral ligament, the popliteus tendon and the popliteofibular ligament ect, posterolateral structure injury can lead to posterolateral rotatory instability of tibia. This review summarizes the progression of the popliteofibular ligament in development of anatomy, macroscopic anatomy and biomechanics.
